Hear some informative commentary and fascinating facts from our friendly & professional crew about the marine life around Montague Island and maybe a few tall tales as we cruise the shoreline of Montague Island visiting the Australian and New Zealand Fur Seal Colonies.
At 9.30am we will land at Montague Island where we are meet by our National Parks Guide and disembark for a 1.5 hour guided tour of the Island. Montague Island or "Buranguba" has a rich history both Indigenous and European as well as being a Nature Reserve and a wildlife & bird sanctuary.Montague Island is home to tens of thousands of sea birds including up to eight thousand pairs of Little Penguins
In the company of your National Parks Guide take a stroll up to the lighthouse keepers cottages, Crested Terns and Silver Gulls nest on either sides of the walking track, you may even encounter a penguin or two.
Also visit the Quarry which the Lighthouse was built from in 1881. You will be astounded by the craftsmanship of the talented stone masons as the Lighthouse stands strong 135 years later.
Step back in time as you climb the spiral staircase inside the historic lighthouse and come out onto the balcony at the very top of the Lighthouse, the Ocean views from the balcony at the very top of the lighthouse are spectacularly breathtaking
Enjoy a nature walk on the southern end of the Island down past the old jetty and back to jetty bay
Your Vessel "Spirit of Narooma" will be waiting to take you back to Narooma.

Pack a jumper,there is plenty of room on board to bring a backpack bag.
Our crew will ensure the most comfortable ride possible whilst travelling to and from Montague Island.
Everyone is different but if you are inclined to suffer from motion sickness, it may be wise to take precautions we have found Travelcalm to be the best taken about 1 hour before your tour departs. However consult your local chemist on what best suits you.
